about FHS SciOly
Established in 2020, Foothill Science Olympiad is a competitive STEM club at Foothill High School, bringing together 30 dedicated students across two teams: Olympus and Atlantis. Each season, students are able to choose between 23 different events that span across different branches of science, working in teams to create builds, conduct hands-on lab activities, and problem solve in competition. Every year, our club attends multiple satellite, travel, and in-person invitational tournaments in the states and national-level category, as well as the Alameda Regional Science Olympiad (ARSO), which takes place towards the end of the season.
Our club's official mascot is John Scioly, whose “face” is represented by the club’s current president with sunglasses and a crown edited on, changing each year.

Travel competition weekends are where all the fun kicks in! FHS Scioly bonds through team dinners, hotel rooming, and long bus rides filled with rounds after rounds of Telephone. With FHS Scioly, invitationals that once began as stressful nights of studying turn into shared memories that our team can look back on together.
We always set aside time during these weekends to explore and travel as a team, whether that is visiting nearby attractions, escape rooms, or team dinners at local restaurants.
During our 2026 USC trip, we visited Santa Monica Beach and the pier, where our members played football, wrestled in the sand, and enjoyed the ocean during our free time.
